AUCTION PORTAL

AUCTION RULES
Sweet 16 is a hybrid sealed-bid and silent auction.

From the auction opening until 12pm on Saturday, Jan. 26, bids are sealed, meaning -- if you want a piece, you submit a bid for the highest amount you would pay for it. At 6pm on Saturday, Jan. 26, the highest bid for each piece will be the starting bid for a live silent auction in the gallery which will close at 8pm. The person with the highest bid on each item at that time will win the piece. Online bidders may request a volunteer proxy who will bid up to an agreed amount on their behalf at the silent auction. Contact us by Friday Jan. 25 if you’d like a proxy bidder.

Most items are labelled with a reserve price (some have no reserve). Bids on pieces with a reserve must be equal to or greater than the reserve. If the reserve price for a piece is not met, it will be returned to the artist.

The artwork in this exhibition was donated as a fundraiser for Public Space One; in an effort to support artists directly, donating artists were given the option to receive a percentage of the proceeds from their piece.

Friday, Jan. 18th at 1pm: Sealed-bid pre-bidding opens online and in the gallery

Saturday, Jan. 26th at noon: Sealed-bid pre-bidding closes online

Saturday, Jan. 26th at 6pm: Silent auction live bidding opens in the gallery

Saturday, Jan. 26th at 8pm: Silent auction live bidding closes in the gallery
Winners who are present at the auction close will be able to pay for and take their pieces with them then. However, participants need not be present to win and will be notified via phone or email. Payment, pick-ups, and shipping will be available the week following the auction.

Submitting a bid is a binding agreement by the bidder to purchase the work if their bid is the highest placed. Payment may be made by cash, check or credit card, and must be received within one week of notification. Winners are responsible for item pick-up or associated shipping fees.

PS1 reserves the right to add or remove an item from the auction without notice.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

The online portion of this auction is now closed!

Final bids will happen at the PS1 gallery (120 N. Dubuque St, Iowa City, IA) silent auction style the afternoon (open gallery hours: 1-4p) and evening (closing reception: 6-8p) of Sat. Jan. 26. You need not be present to win, but do need to be the highest bidder when 8p strikes.
