GARDENS at PS1 Close house (538 S Gilbert)

We are currently in the first phase of transforming the lawn around the Close House into an intentional, beautiful, and (mostly) edible landscape for our community! The design was created by Backyard Abundance with community input and is partially funded by a generous grant from The Wellmark Foundation.

Phase 1 will focus on the southwest corner of the land (closest to the intersection of Bowery and Gilbert).
Fall 2023: hardscaping and bed preparation
Spring 2024: plant establishment, building of seating and raised beds
