FOR LOCAL ARTISTS
The Northside Studio Residency gives away a small private studio at PS1 to a local artist/maker three times per year. Learn more here.

The Iowa City Summer Residency turns our space over to a group of local artists in late July. Learn more here.

The DIY Publishing Residency offers studio space and printing resources to local and visiting artists.


FOR VISITING ARTISTS

The Center for Afrofuturist Studies hosts 1-6 week residencies in Iowa City for artists of color from across the US and beyond. Learn more here.

Residency in Community
is a program that hosts visiting artists onsite at PS1 for 2-4 weeks. It is geared towards artists who have a significant component of their practice grounded in an areas that PS1 has robust resources and an established local artistic community around, including: printmaking/book arts, media arts, and land/built environment.

These opportunities are fee-free and include artist funding. We also have options for:

  • pay-your-own-way retreats for artists with access to institutional or personal resources

  • housing visiting artists for another local organization

  • collaborative residencies with other organizations
