Teaching Artist:

Mackie Garrett is a poet and artist based in Iowa City. He designs and letterpress prints zines, chapbooks, greeting cards, and posters as 508 Press. His poems have appeared in many online and print journals including THE FOURTH RIVER, PLAINSONGS, BOMBUS PRESS, and BLUE RIVER REVIEW. In addition to reading, printing, and writing, he enjoys playing music, taking photographs, and sending mail. He facilitates events, readings, and workshops in partnership with Public Space One, PorchLight Literary Center, the Iowa City Press Cooperative, and the band Antifahorn. He loves to spend time with family and friends.
