TEACHING ARTIST
Gabi Vanek is a lighting technician and reluctant designer (and bassoonist) hanging out here in Iowa City. She has worked in academia, arenas, mid-sized venues, and everything in between in Iowa City and across the country. If you live in town, her fingerprints and handwriting are at almost every venue. You might even see her as the Feed Me Weird Things occasional merch girl. Gabi has also recently worked as a programmer and house technician for PBS and HBO. You can spot her in an orange hat making an unwanted cameo in a recent comedy special.
