Stop by the Art Gardens at 225-229 N Gilbert on All Hallow’s Eve and Halloween — amidst the rotting blossoms, dried foliage and wilted plants, we’ll be playing Jacob Smithburg’s audio work 24-hour spooktacghoulhour in full!
Come by Monday 10/31 from 5-8pm for a fire and candy.
“this is a halloween album featuring 24-hours of recorded foley work. a large portion of sounds were recorded and put together to create an evolving spooky soundscape which serves as a baseline for the piece. additionally, a single 24-hour track was recorded live for PS1's fall 2022 Art-a-Thon and overlays the ambience, showcases raw interactions between audience members/participants and a set of microphones. This collaborative project has become a sort of halloween sound effects album created by southeast Iowa and folks from all over who submitted spooky sounds virtually.”
