at the IC Press Co-op (225 N. Gilbert)
pay-what-you-can: $20-180
In this introduction to the art of letterpress printing, we’ll learn the basics by working with the classic presses that live at the Iowa City Press Coop. Each participant will have the chance to learn about basic care and set up of the presses, typesetting and print matrix preparation, inking and printing techniques, and the ever popular clean up procedures. We will start with some collaborative work and then move into individual projects. Participants will be able to print independently on the Showcard press by the end of the workshop. Mackie is happy to guide you as you start or renew your adventures in letterpress.
Open to ages 14+.
Registration deadline: Feb. 18
