Screenprinting with Natural Dye Modifiers on Fabric

pay-what-you-can: $40-$175

Students will learn to naturally dye fabric & to screen print onto the fabric using 3 natural modifiers, & dye that will create color or modify the color where printed. Students will learn to make an image for a screen to use as their printed design. Students will leave class with naturally printed designs on 3 colors of fabric, 2 naturally dyed backgrounds & one white.
Open to ages 18+.

*PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank and individual donors. $163 is the true cost of the workshop, and we encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford, or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.

Lilah Ward Shepherd is a multidisciplinary artist working with textiles, natural dyeing, printmaking, clay, painting and drawing. She received her MFA from the university of Iowa in printmaking and MA in ceramics. Her work explores color relationships, geometric shapes and patterning, relationships between forms and space while investigating human relationships, identity, ancestry, peace, comfort, and play.
