Typewriter fans and typewriter-curious—join us for a Type-In!

What is a “Type-In”? Simply stated, a Type-In is an event where you can come and try typing on a selection of manual typewriters, most of them at least 50 years old. Think of it as a kind of speed-dating for your fingers, eyes and ears! 

Why would you want to attend this? For those of us who grew up with typewriters, a Type-In is a chance to have a (we hope!) positive nostalgic experience. For a generation which has never laid eyes or hands on a typing machine, it is the opportunity to find out how these amazing machines make words and art without benefit of electricity or microchips. You can talk to the owners of machines, and learn about their histories and the souls of old machines.
