Making Cyanotypes with Digital Negatives
with Ramin Roshandel
Sat. Jan. 18, 1-4p & Sun. Jan. 19, 1-3p
at the IC Press Co-op (225 N. Gilbert)
pay-what-you-can: $30-$175
This is an entry- to medium-level workshop for learning the Cyanotypes printing technique with digital negatives. There are few goals that we try to follow throughout this workshop:
1- Learning the basic knowledge of contact prints with a relatively inexpensive method like cyanotype. This could be a gateway for anyone who wants to do more sensitive and advanced techniques like Platinum/Palladium, Gelatin Silver, Salt Print, Gum Bichromate, or Negative Paper
2- Finding a way to bring selected photographs out of thousands of photos that we store on our cellphones into life by printing them.
3- Experimenting toning cyanotypes with organic materials
Open to ages 18+.
Registration deadline: Jan. 4
*PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank and individual donors. $160 is the true cost of the workshop, and we encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford, or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.
