at the IC Press Co-op (225 N. Gilbert)

Botanical printing is a method of transferring the pigments of leaves and flowers directly onto fabric, producing beautiful images that can capture both color and detail. While there are endless variables to explore in this process, anyone can produce a beautiful piece on their first try. We’ll begin by learning the essential steps to create any print, then identify the possibilities that can expand your printing experience.

This workshop will include instruction for how to

  • Choose and prepare your fiber for printing

  • Understand how different botanicals interact with the fiber

  • Use a natural dye blanket to create background color

  • Process your print

  • Handle your finished prints

  • Store up botanicals for winter printing

    Open to ages 18+.

Registration deadline: Aug. 29

*PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank and individual donors. $155 is the true cost of the workshop, and we encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford, or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.
